Online Learning Modules

In order to expand our education offerings related to Goal 2, UMD has partnered with Vector Solutions, a community engagement operating system. These online modules focus on critical topics related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice and are available for students, staff, and faculty at UMD.

Staff/Faculty Modules:

  1. Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging
  2. Implicit Bias training modules

Each module takes 60-90 minutes to complete and includes multiple sections that are interactive and encourage reflection. Participants are encouraged to set aside 20-30 minutes at a time to work through the modules in sections. This will allow for a deeper understanding and reflection of the material.

As part of our comprehensive training program, all faculty and staff are expected to complete these two modules.  If you need technical support, please utilize the “Help” button located within the course.

Student Modules:

The module; Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging for Students focuses on the expectation that students will be engaged as members of a diverse and inclusive community while providing important tools that they can use throughout their personal journey.

Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging for Students explores the following topics:

• Equity

• Power, Privilege, and Oppression

• Identity and Selfhood

The topic of diversity, equity & inclusion has significant importance for college students who often enter college ill-equipped at understanding their own identity, and the identity of others, as well as how to communicate around areas of diversity, equity & inclusion.

UMD faculty and instructors are invited to use these modules in your classes. A resource guide to use with the modules is also available upon request.

To sign yourself or your students up for the modules, please email Susana Pelayo-Woodward at [email protected]. Include Vector Solutions Module in your subject heading and include the following information: Name, email address, whether you are an individual student or faculty, or requesting Vector Solutions for one of your classes.
